    remote lock charging

Unless I'm mistaken, phones and other battery powered devices have an independent charging circuit. The CPU can communicate with it in limited fashion, such as cutting off charging at 80%, but it is not fully controlled by the CPU. When the phone is turned off, it should return to its default...

    remote lock charging

No, battery charging is always possible, even if the phone is off.

Question How does the Android file system work ?

The Android file system is mostly like Windows in structure, but how that info is presented to you can differ. A common example would be media gallery apps. They tend to show you every media containing folder (unless hidden or contains a "nomedia" file) as an album up front so you don't have to...

Is the Google Pixel team incapable of understanding Machine Learning?

Well for what it's worth, this is an Android thing, not a Pixel phone thing. I've had this same issue from my prior LG phones and now on a Sony. I've never used Samsung, so maybe they are an outlier, but my experience is their OS and software developers feel the need to justify their existence...

    Bluetooth subwofer

I've never heard of a Bluetooth subwoofer, and it wouldn't make much sense to have one. Could you describe your setup in more detail?

Gboard comma key adds space, not comma

Not saying it's impossible you have a problem, but I've had similar issues with Gboard and it's just a case of me not hitting the comma and period buttons right. I've had this issue ever since I had to switch away from Swype because of old muscle memory habits and not being fond of the lack of a...

Question How do I enable WiFi calling?

For what it's worth, this is often the case. I'm guessing you went with one with an almost too good to be true price, and it would have specified the exact model number somewhere in the listing. It's not illegal to do this as long as it's disclosed, and are referred to as grey market purchases...

Anyone else feel phone upgrades are getting boring?

Hey, if I found one that is a good metallic blue, it would be high on my list. Not baby blue, not blue'ish, but actual RGB 0,0,255 blue. Beyond that, it's all the same junk I don't want. Burn in prone OLED screens, folding screens, sealed battles, lacking SD slots, forced AI, etc. I'll be...

Sd cards coming back to phones?

Sony still has it on their flagship Xperia line. My Xperia 1 V has one installed.

Install apk onto Moto G first generation using apk file

How are you looking for the apk files on the phone itself? I know you said you tried going to the downloads folder, but what app are you using to browse? It almost sounds like you are using the gallery app (or whatever its equivalent is called on your phone), which would show media files but not...

Alarm clocks with selectable snooze time

This is the one I use, and can select a snooze amount from 0 to 60 minutes in one minute increments. I also like it because I can use more than just a button to dismiss an alarm. I personally have it set to do a math problem, and I think you can require reading a UPC with the phone camera to...

    Question Possible corrupted photos

If it's an old card, it could be getting worn out. Especially if it's had a lot of files saved and then deleted from it. SD cards are a write once/read many type storage medium. Excessive writing and deleting can wear them out quicker.

Question Copy Large (1.7GB) Video to Pixel 7 Pro

If you have a Wi-Fi router as part of your network, Quick Share can still work. My PC is connected to an ethernet switch, which my Wi-Fi router is also plugged into, and it allows me to use Quick Share just fine. The only hiccup I have is it isn't compatible with Samsung phones and the Samsung...

Question Copy Large (1.7GB) Video to Pixel 7 Pro

There are so many flavors of USB that even that cable isn't enough to go on to know what protocol you are using. USB is also best for bursty loads, like multiple smaller files. For larger single files, Wi-Fi can blow it away.

Question Copy Large (1.7GB) Video to Pixel 7 Pro

For something this large, I would use the Google Quick Share function. The PC will need a Bluetooth connection and download of the Quick Share Windows program, but transferring with it via Wi-Fi is going to be much faster than other connection options.
