The HTC virtual keyboard is so much better and way more accurate. Has anyone figured out or fixed the resolution problem when that keyboard is ported over to the motorola droid? It works well but looks like ****.

we use a qwerty keyboard in the US. if you notice he is using a different style keyboard in the video, look closely it begins with the letter "a" that might throw off the alignment from what everyone in here is used to seeing.

well thats after the phone has been activated. The reason you didnt notice the green droid screen is because your sales rep activated it for you. However the ops phone has not been activated so he will see the green droid screen.

Not true. When you get the screen with the little green droid you can bypass that screen and begin to set phone up. On the screen with the droid tap top left, then top right corner, then bottom right corner and last bottom left corner this will get you into the phone and bypass activation.

swype keyboard is landscape as well but very weird using it in landscape since like you said that way you hold phone with both hands

The difference is very minimal. Although the raised keyboard does look better and is more accurate for typing. For some reason it seems like you can type faster on the flat keyboard. Although the Flat keyboard requires more looking at the keyboard for typing. One is not really better than the...

we dont even know if thats the case.... the raised key ones could technically be classified as defective units because all the advertising and everything they show on the phone shows the droid with flat keys... Just an observation. Doesnt necessarily mean there is two builds.

erica honestly they wont know that there is even a difference. And all the inventory will be flat keys. Just so happens that 5% of droid owners(that is a guess) have noticed raised keyboard but its too rare right now to even know what the deal is.

nah, there is no way that the raised keyboard would be so perfectly raised all keys bubbled exactly the same and it be a manufacturing mishap.

hmmmmm so maybe the date proves nothing. because your date is more recent than mine and yet you have flat keys...... hmmmmm my belief is that the phones were built in two different plants/facilities. Made in China here.

my build date which is of 2nd pic on original post. (raised keys) is build date: 44/09 Which if the first number is based on what week of the year they built the device. Week 44 is pretty late, meaning later this year or early next year we will begin to see more Droids with raised keyboards.
