Yup, same issue + laggy emoji input. I was able to restore the emoji's for a second when I switched keyboards to a third party then switched back to the stock one but then the same issue occurred.

Actually it may be a case issue, if the case you are using is too tight/doesn't easily cover your phone, it may cause this problem. Samsung was quick to ask me if I was using a Samsung approved case with the phone when I told them about the crescent shape piece coming down infront of the front...

I'm having the same issue, a small crescent piece has come down and is blocking the front facing camera, partially blacking out the screen. Brian, were you using a phone case? If so, which one?

I have the exact same issue down to the crescent piece over the front facing camera. I unfortunately have to deal with Samsung to fix this :(
