Hi all,

I am now on my 6th Galaxy S5 due to various sensor/build quality faults/issues. Finally I got a handset that is fine, however it seems that today I may have found another problem :(

I do not want to exchange it again if it is a product 'characteristic' if you like, and was wondering if you guys can help.

At full volume you can here a bit of distortion/crackling from the ear piece speaker on certain pitches of the voice on the other end (NOT the loud speaker at the back of the phone).

I don't have anything to compare it with and my Galaxy S4 doesn't do this (only ever so slightly, if anything).

If I reduce the volume it is greatly reduced but is still present.

Does anyone else have this. Can they test theres at full volume and test it out for me please?

TIA

I haven't had that issue. You're on your 6th phone? That is excessive. Sure there are some lemons...but 6? Are you getting them at a corporate store, online or what?

Can anyone help on this? Any help appreciated :)

Yes, getting them at a retail store. Blimey, looks like another exchange is on the cards. It sounds almost as if the speaker is rattling at certain pitches of the other persons voice at full volume.

I'm not having the best of luck with these but not sure about the HTC One M8 as this is what the shop is offering me instead if im sick of the issues.

With my Bionic I had a similar issue. You can try to put your mouth over the ear speaker and suck in and blow out carefully. This will create a vacuum on the speaker cone and straighten it out. The cone could get misshaped and this should straighten it back out. Don't blow / suck too hard or you may damage the speaker. Just enough to create some pressure on it.

I would return it and get it from another store... 6 is excessive. It sounds like the batch they got is bad... Or shipping handled them bad.

You should definately be able to get a replacement. It should not be crackling at any volume

I thought I had bad luck when I had to get my second. That must be a bad batch of phones, is there any possibility you can obtain the phone from another store ?
