Well maybe not so easy. I'm copying now and have 13,804 items with 10.2 GB on "old memory card". Had 1 error and chose to skip that file. Still copying.....could be reader on my work desktop pc not working properly so I will probably take home and do it from my laptop. Thank again for your help.

Sounds easy enough. The MicroSD card actually came with a SD Adapter for it. Is that what you mean by a memory card reader?

thank you for your reply. I didn't realize this could be done. I've learned my lesson to not let the store transfer my stuff in the future. I just downloaded Kies on my pc and backing up my new phone and then I will back up the S3. Thanks again.

How do I find this on my deactived S3? "storage/emulated/0" I believe that is where I need to look for SMS and MMS but haven't been able to locate that folder? Can anyone help me?
