I was in the same situation on Wednesday with my Flip4/ATT. WiFi calling wouldn't turn on. Tried yesterday (Thursday) and it turned on within 5 - 10 seconds. My guess was some issue on ATT side.

Good point about swipe up from bottom. I've gotten in the habit at checkouts to unlock with my fingerprint, then swipe up on the sensor to pay (then fingerprint again to authorize the payment). It's a minor point, but all three motions are on the fingerprint sensor so it requires little fuss...
