The Essential Phone - Yay or Nay?

Nope. I know that there are people who say it's not needed, but I need a removable battery, expandable storage, a headphone jack, and the ability to choose between wired and wireless charging. But that's just me...

    LG V20 and Removable Batteries

You are definitely not alone. I demand it, along with expandable storage (that is, MicroSD compatibility), a headphone jack (yes, Bluetooth has its benefits... also has enough drawbacks that having a wired headphone option is a must for me), and the option to choose between wireless and wired...

    Audio Focus

I use Doggcatcher to listen to podcasts. But it is really quick to give up audio focus to literally anything else. I get that with phone calls, but when I'm listening to a podcast and want to play, say, Pokémon Go, Doggcatcher immediately pauses. Worse, I lose the audio controls in the pull-down...

Screen Overlay Detected - To Change This Permission......6P is messed up

Welp... I thought uninstalling Twilight would do the trick, but boy was I wrong. I was having the problem with Google's photo gallery app. Had to uninstall all my app and file managers and reboot the phone. This overlay bull**** is getting ****ing ridiculous and I'm ready to throw my phone. It...

Screen Overlay Detected - To Change This Permission......6P is messed up

I just had this problem with Prisma. I turned off the permission for literally every app that can draw on top of other apps (one by one... there really needs to be a way to deal with apps at once), and Prisma finally worked. I have Twilight, but just turning the permission for that app off...

G4 Automatically Cuts My Volume Down...

Update... I've been using Hearing Saver on both my G4s (the one I had when I started this thread got stuck in that reboot loop and I had to get it replaced) all this time. It is not 100% at all. It does extend the time my phone leaves the volume alone by quite a bit, but eventually the phone...

Turning My Old S4 Into a Glorified MP3 Player; Should I Root it?

There is one thing I'd love to shut off but can't without rooting it... the whole "we have to protect your hearing" BS. I have that on my LG G4, as well, and Hearing Saver does not work 100% of the time (hell... my G4 just did this immediately after enabling Hearing Saver). It'd be one thing if...

Turning My Old S4 Into a Glorified MP3 Player; Should I Root it?

My current phone is the LG G4. I still have my old Galaxy S4, however, and I want to turn it into a glorified music player. I should start out by saying that I've already done a factory reset on my old S4 (to clear up the space and have the thing working perfectly) and I have a brand new 128gb...

LG G4 Stuck on boot, how can I get it out of it?

If I can't get into the store by Friday, this is what I'll do.

LG G4 Stuck on boot, how can I get it out of it?

I'm officially in this club as well... not that I wanted to be. My carrier is Verizon and my S/N starts with 508. I'm really pissed off about this. Had to switch to my old Galaxy S4, and I'm not 100% sure when I'll be able to get into the Verizon store I bought the G4 from. *sigh*

G4 Automatically Cuts My Volume Down...

I've only had my new LG G4 since Black Friday, so I haven't rebooted it at all, yet.

G4 Automatically Cuts My Volume Down...

I've been using Hearing Saver for about a week now, too, and for the most part it works as advertised, but not 100% of the time. Two or three times I've had the volume cut down on me despite not only having Hearing Saver enabled, but actually open in the background. I've had to re-enable it...

G4 Automatically Cuts My Volume Down...

Thank you both. I've installed it and am looking forward to testing it out. Will update after I've given it a run...

G4 Automatically Cuts My Volume Down...

So a European regulation has to effect US-American phones, then? I'm a fan of regulation, but that's ridiculous. And it's fine with headphones. For the most part, with the exception of a couple of the podcasts I listen to, the recommended volume is perfect when listening through headphones...

G4 Automatically Cuts My Volume Down...

My Galaxy S4 did this, as well, and all I could ever find is that you first have to root the phone. Which is BS. Look... I get it. Listening at volumes that are too loud through headphones or earbuds can be dangerous. I'm a musician and I already have tinnitus. So I do get it. But guess what...
