Smart Manager -> App Power Saving, background or foreground?

So I've upgraded from S4 to S7 two months ago so I'm still new to Samsung's Smart Manager. When it proposes putting an app in "Power Saving" mode, I determine if I'm expecting important notifications from that said app and if so, I leave it off (no power saving) because I've read it could...

    Speed Dial preview when hovering

On KitKat, I used to hold my finger (hovering) over a speed dial number in the stock phone app (S4) and the contact associated to that short # would pop up, allowing me to know who it was attributed to. On Marshallow (S7) no previews show up, has it been removed or is there a way to make it...

    Disable/Hide sms previews in Contacts

Thanks Tim1954, got me to the right place, just selected SMS Permissions then denied access to Contacts instead for this specific need :)

    Disable/Hide sms previews in Contacts

I recently leaped from S4 w/ KitKat to S7 w/ Marshmallow and one thing nagging me among other things is when I go in Contacts (either directly or through the stock phone app) and select a contact, it shows my recent texts (SMS) with that person. I'm trying to disable this, Googled it, checked...

[Guide][Samsung] How to flash Stock ROM via ODIN with the New Interface

If by original you mean the one distributrddistributed by Android and not by your carrier than yeah, it doesn't have all the bloatware and customizations making it smaller in your case.

Quit spamming. Of course it's not 5 MB's, it's an OS.

Will a factory reset revert to the OS I had when bought?

Thanks. Higher in the thread I got my answer though and resorted to flashing it back to that firmware. Now I've also rooted and happy about it :)

[Guide][Samsung] How to flash Stock ROM via ODIN with the New Interface

A huge thanks! Worked out perfect on my Galaxy S4. Exactly what I needed If other users see this method not working on the S4 (I can't tell for other models, haven't tested), DON'T hold the Home button.

Will a factory reset revert to the OS I had when bought?

Well, it DID WORK!! I've put two screenshots below, one before (still with Lollipop, 5.0.1) and after, Flashing back to KitKat, 4.4.2 ! Everything's fully functional now. I followed the guide you linked me (which you authored, can't link according to my user privileges here though), so thanks...

Will a factory reset revert to the OS I had when bought?

Wow, thanks. Will keep you updated. For the moment didn't have the time to get around doing it (must backup first) but will let you know if I get stuck, thanks for the offer again.

Wow, you just made my day. I'm trying it tomorrow. And no, if it fails, I'm not holding you responsible. Thanks again!

Will a factory reset revert to the OS I had when bought?

I know I should maybe be starting another thread for this, I'm asking just in case I'm not wearing out your patience (otherwise I'll understand :) ), but... I was looking for a stock ROM of 4.4.2 . My guess is that I should go with the version for my model and service provider (which happens to...

Will a factory reset revert to the OS I had when bought?

Thanks! Sad, but thanks That would invariably involve root access? I'm asking because a friend of mine wants to do the same but doesn't know how to root.

Will a factory reset revert to the OS I had when bought?

I haven't specified the model in the title or category because I think the answer would affect all phones, but just in case, I'm on a Galaxy S4 model SGM-I337m (Canada) and my provider (Koodo) pushed version 5.0.1 of Lollipop this week. For the record, I do not have root access because it seems...
