I was actually just popping in here to ask the same question. I did the update yesterday on my Nexus 4. Everything went smoothly and has updated as I expected, other than the app drawer. I too have the old "black" app drawer after update.

I just received the notification!

I took that information as meaning the 4 isn't getting the update right now. More current devices getting the update first. 4 getting the update, but at the back of the line.

A little bit ago I turned MMS on in Google Hangouts to see what it was like. I did not care for it, so I switched back to the messaging app. I no longer get a notification (no sound, no icon in status bar) even though I have checked the notifications box in the settings for the stock messaging...

Well I finally got Kit Kat!! Interested in trying out the GEL, but, not quite sure yet. I would like to use the Nexus 5 default wallpaper though, any suggestions to find that?

Still on Android 4.3 but I did just get the new Hangouts this morning! Figured I should try out the SMS functioning. Do I need to/can I disable the default messaging app? Because I just sent a MMS via Hangouts and I see it appeared in the messaging app as well.

Can notification sounds by changed for apps like twitter/facebook etc? I'm using Nova Launcher if that matters at all.

I do. Previously I have received a picture message, but I just tried to send one and that isn't working anymore.

Google Play over wifi only, and a 64gb iPod for when I really need pure music enjoyment. Perfect.
