Why does my screen light up when I get a text message?

Re: Default messaging app lights screen Under Settings in the messaging app I have a New Message Pop-up option - if I untick this it stops the screen lighting up when a message appears (I'm running stock KK and stock messaging app).

do yellow spots on LGg2 screen a screen only problem or is it something with other components

It's hard to see how it could be an issue with any component other than the screen. As pointed out earlier, yellow spots are most often caused by an issue with the glue used to bind the screen to the glass. When you replace a screen you're replacing the whole screen/glass unit, so this should...

    Data connectivity issues!!

It is definitely OK. You should never, ever leave your SIM in your phone when you put it in for repairs. If the repairer wants to check the network connectivity to your particular provider to rule out a network issue, they should do it in your presence so you know exactly what they're doing...

Slow charge? Use a proper charging cable!

Whether the cable makes a difference or not will depend on the source from which you are charging. If it's from a PC USB port, then a charge+data cable will normally charge at 500mA. If you use a charge-only cable in the same USB port, the tablet may ask for more current, but whether the USB...

Slow charge? Use a proper charging cable!

The latter. For the phone to enter Fast Charge mode it has to detect that the port isn't a USB data port. Most chargers short the data pins internally so you can use any USB cable. Perhaps the charger you're trying to use doesn't do this, in which case you will need a 'charge only' USB cable.

Will my LG Backup be deleted if i go for Hard Reset

I've never used the LG Backup, but I'd imagine that the backup file would be preserved during a hard reset, otherwise it wouldn't be much use as a backup. But others may know better. On the subject of your phone not being recognised, what PC connection method is the phone set to (Settings >...

Slow charge? Use a proper charging cable!

A 100mA charger WILL NOT damage the battery, it will just take a lot longer to charge. Or it may not charge at all. But it won't damage the battery.

Slow charge? Use a proper charging cable!

Can you please explain how using a power strip can affect the output from a phone charger? Unless the power strip is dangerously defective and potentially hazardous to use, I can't think of a mechanism by which this could happen.

    LG G2 Bloatware Removal

Depends on how it's coded. It could be included in the install image, or it could be downloaded as part of the installation procedure. Both are possible. But yes, when you delete a factory installed app you're only deleting it from the installed version of the OS, not from the permanent ROM...

    LG G2 Bloatware Removal

The apps (or links to them) are built into the ROM that holds the OS installation image. The first time the phone is started when new it unpacks this install image and installs the operating system into the phone's flash memory. Any subsequent changes to options, apps etc. are saved into this...

Video Games affect my phone a lot ?

The numbers don't matter so much, the real point is that you don't run your phone dead all the time and then leave it uncharged. Lithium-based batteries don't like being held at either 100% charge or low charge for any length of time. Personally, I don't see the point of only charging to 90% or...

    Frightened to update to kitkat

When you update the firmware on a phone you update the OS code in the permanent ROM. So I factory reset does not revert your phone back to the previous operating system, it just resets all settings and options for the current firmware you have installed to their original settings and erases all...

    Phone app using battery?

Two things with new phones: 1. You tend to play with them a lot, tweak them a lot and turn the screen on a lot just to gaze at how beautiful it is. This means that most people drain their batteries a lot quicker when they first get the phone because the screen is on more often and the phone is...
