I registered my First Direct card and used it twice at the canteen where I work - was very quick and easy with both going through first time. I was impressed!

Do I need to have NFC permanently on to use this? I thought it turned it on automatically or maybe I'm confusing it with Samsung Pay? In any case how can it detect a payment unless NFC is always on?

I'm not so sure... Most chip and pin card readers also have a magnetic strip reader as well. My impression is if you swipe a card that has an embedded chip it tells the terminal forcing you to use the (more secure) PIN. Presumably Samsung Pay doesn't do this allowing you to make the payment...

Yes that's the same as my wife's S7. I can only assume they are rolling it out gradually. Either that or mine's been enabled by mistake!

Yes, you get the status bar symbol too. I have to agree it seems to me that EE have handled WiFi calling in a much better way than Vodafone have. Sadly I got suckered into another 24 month contract otherwise I would definitely have switched to EE.

Yes, in the Phone app it appears at the bottom of the list. I'm on Vodafone and it's working for me which is pretty useful since my SureSignal box hasn't worked since I got the S7 Edge! Strangely although my wife's S7 also got the update hers isn't showing the WiFi calling option.

I got the update through on Vodafone yesterday. About an hour afterwards I made my first Wi-Fi call which was interesting as the Vodafone WiFi page still shows "coming soon" for the S7.

Regarding the original post I'm very curious to hear what happens. My month old S7 Edge slipped out of my pocket and dropped (gently) onto a carpeted wooden floor. When I picked it up I had a clump of stuck pixels and horizontal white line. Tried a factory reset just in case but they were stuck...
