Why the IAP Model Needs to Die…

For years now, the mobile gaming market, for both Android and iOS users, has been saturated with gaming titles requiring IAPs (in-app-purchases). Sure, you can play them for free, but on average, in order to get anywhere in the game, or 'level up', you have to drop serious cash into the game...

Another Star Wars App Bites the Dust...

Not sure if anyone noticed, Star Wars: Rivals has bitten the dust. According to the screenshot obtained from in-game, the game will no longer be playable as of October 11, 2018. No refunds or credit for IAPs will be issued.

Flex 11 - Perfect Everyday Windows 10 Alternative...

Got so sick of Microsoft Windows, and decided to foray into the world of Chromebook. So, through my employee discount, I picked up the Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook. Lightweight, rugged feeling, great keyboard, update it out of the box and it is Play Store ready, can't say enough good things about...

Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 (Verizon Variant) Customization?

So, using ADB, I was more than able to disable most of the preloaded Samsung bloatware and repetitive apps (Messages vs. Google Messages and so on) to try to make the tablet as pure Google Android as possible. However, I want to take it another step further. I frequent the XDA forums and...

Bixby Battery Hog - Now Battery Back to Normal

Indeed it was. Top of the list. Not trusting it, I used a third-party app - 'lo and behold, Bixby was still at the top. Yes, I tried putting it to 'sleep', force stopping, restarting, factory reset, the works. So like I said, finally just got so fed up with it, I shut it down :-)

Bixby Battery Hog - Now Battery Back to Normal

Samsung's voice assistant, Bixby, has widely criticized since it's announcement, release, and subsequent updates. My own experience - even if you shut down your Samsung account, and disable the "Bixby Button", it still tries to push you into using it. Over the past few months, I have noticed a...

Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 (Verizon) - Nougat?

Confirmed by Samsung today that the Galaxy Tab E variants ARE in fact in the wild to all major carriers. Verizon's baseband version will be T377VVRU1APB1 - so Verizon (as usual) is sitting on it...

Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 (Verizon) - Nougat?

So I caught a few articles that Samsung dropped Nougat 7.1.1 with the August security patch to US Cellular SM-T377's the other day. Anyone have a clue or hint as to when it will drop for Verizon customers? Or this going to be a waiting game when we were all waiting for it for the Galaxy 7...

US Pure Nougat Is Finally Rolling Out!

Is this for any model phone?

    Verizon Nougat?

Question is - and I have been wondering this myself - is who is truly to blame? Samsung or Verizon? I know I have talked about this in multiple threads - heck even Tech Tech Times put out an article that Verizon was getting a lot of flack from users because of not releasing the upgrade...

    Verizon Nougat?

As I said previously - of Big Four, they did GSM carriers first, T-Mobile, then AT&T. Smaller then Larger. Then they started with CDMA carriers, Sprint, and now, presumably Verizon would drop next. Unlocked phones last (as Samsung has no contractual obligations to unlocked phones despite...

    Verizon Nougat?

I feel ya there...and would totally understand your position. It is nice to be able to buy a phone outright and choose any carrier that you like - definitely helps save $$$ in the long run, and you can choose your own carrier. But I think that is the downfall - as Samsung has an obligation...

    Verizon Nougat?

    Verizon Nougat?

With the "Big 4" - T-Mobile / AT&T are GSM, and Sprint / Verizon are CDMA. Given that T-Mobile got it first, then AT&T just got it, my best guess, and I stress GUESS, is that Sprint and/or Verizon will get it next within the same time-frame. I am leaning more towards Sprint (T-Mobile is does...

Well done Samsung the most expensive phone with the last nougat (almost) for a top smart phone

Funny I was just mentioning this in the Samsung GS7edge - Verizon Users Thread: "My only concern about using a beta firmware is using 3rd-party software to install it. That being said, I understand it is a necessary evil. But I think the underlying statement about Nougat rolling out to...
