Sounds right. Splash screen comes up on the phone. Which is why it's been mostly annoying :)

I looked for it within the app manager including system apps and then using a package disabler but it looks like somehow it's not on the device and triggered by the car head unit.

When connecting to the car the welcome to Android Auto blue welcome screen pops up every time. This shows the no thanks and get started buttons at the bottom. Is there any way to disable the screen from popping up every time? I don't want to use AA. I found nothing searching for this. Thx.

I have one very annoying problem where Google Voice typing will not type out my spoken words even though it's brought up the tap to pause screen with mic icon. Meaning it's ready to go to detect... This is only while connected via Bluetooth in the car. Thanks...
