True, never owned one before - but it's packed with Dual/Single and Multi-Cell technologies (and even supports conference calling between Cellular and Satellite!!!) - (so i'm told in the user manual) ;-|

Yes, absolutely, NFC (Near-Field Communication) is, and remans turned off. and has never been active. The phone is FULLY powered off also.
