G+ crashes all the time on my S3 and my HTC ONE ALSO so you are not alone actually it started in my iPhone 4 21/2 years ago then I switch too S3 phone G+ got worse on not better now I got HTC ONE phone it is doing the same now the HANGOUT is doing the same on my iPhone it will open up then close...

I think it is the cable system for I'm not the only one that has the same problem my nephew's friend has the same phone as mine S3 32GB bad charging system my nephew got HTC one hour complete charge his other friend MY TOUCH phone one hour complete charge all Android I have iPhone 4 32GB also...
