Thanks, I believe you're right; it seems to be an issue with the app itself. The solution in the thread you so kindly linked didn't work for me. I'm guessing that Amazon will come out with a fix sooner or later. But if anyone comes across anything sooner I'd sure appreciate seeing it.

Indeed. The larger screen is excellent for the purpose. Because the Kindle app works on my Nexus 7 with 4.3 but not on the HTC One with 4.3, I'm inclined to believe that the problem may emanate from changes in Sense rather than from the 4.3 update itself. Make any Sense?
