The fact that there is no out of the box OTA shows that Moto QA actually did their jobs instead of rushing a half-baked product out the door. The very nature of them using pretty much stock also helps their cause.

After a year your warranty will be up, and you can unlock the bootloader and flash CM or any of the other custom ROMs that will certainly be available to keep the magic alive on the latest and greatest :D

Yep -- but dealing with Oneplus is a whole other bag of tricks if you ever want actually need to deal with their RMA group. (I came from a Oneplus One). You should read horror stories of their tech support not responding to repeated emails (I don't believe they have phone support) for warranty...

Supposedly even if you relock -- there is supposed to be a message that says it was relocked. Also, if you read the fine print of the bootloader request, I believe if you even submit the string to receive the bootloader unlock key -- that action in itself voids the warranty, even if you don't...
