Thanks for the responses guys. I've tried a factory reset a couple of times, but it hasn't helped. I bought the phone used, so unfortunately I don't have any warranty support. I hate to dump the phone, but I'm beginning to think I may have to.

I recently purchased a used Honor 8, and love it almost all of the time. Biggest problem I've had is a frequent crash/restart issue. Seems to happen most frequently when using the stock (Huawei) camera app, but I've had it happen when answering and making phone calls, using multiple apps, etc...
