I got the new messages to load but i cant find the messages that are currently in the inbox

I have a hotmail and gmail and the hotmail is default. My gmail doesn't show the loading it just says no messages and i have sent a message to my gmail using the computer and havent received it

Just got my S4 today from US Cellular. I have put two emails in the email app and my inbox won't load on either. It just shows "loading..." and never moves. I have my notifications for email set on and had my girlfriend send me an email and have received nothing. Has anybody else had this issue?
