This Phone Used to be Great

I talked to Motorola and they're replacing my phone. They seem to think that problems that survive a factory reset are hardware related, and they'll stand behind the hardware. I'll give an update to let you know if they're right in my case.

This Phone Used to be Great

I loved this phone when I first got it. I'm still convinced that the problems people complained about most were overblown. Everything worked smoothly and quickly, and the camera is much better than it's been given credit for. But the phone has gotten worse with every update. The biggest issue...

    5.1 Update Wrecked Sleep/Priority Mode

It looks like the problem is that 5.1 and the sleep tracker I use, Sleep as Android, don't play nicely together. If I let the sleep app take care of silencing the phone and just use Moto Assist to keep the screen off, this problem goes away.

    5.1 Update Wrecked Sleep/Priority Mode

This fix didn't last more than a few days. My phone then stopped coming out of downtime when it was supposed to, and it hasn't worked right sense. I finally got around to doing a factory reset to see if that would help. It didn't.

    5.1 Update Wrecked Sleep/Priority Mode

This fixed my issue. I don't know why the update would have affected this, but I had Downtime off and Sleep on. I turned Downtime on with the same time settings as the Moto app. Things worked fine this morning.

    5.1 Update Wrecked Sleep/Priority Mode

Since I updated my PE to 5.1, my phone never leaves priority mode when it's supposed to. It will enter downtime based on the scheduled "Sleep" time, but it won't switch back until I manually turn priority mode off. I've wiped the cache partition a few times since the upgrade. I also tried...

Is there a way to remove the IME switcher?

Re: I hate the keyboard switcher. The source for that image is a post on androidbeat.com that I could not link to.

Is there a way to remove the IME switcher?

Re: I hate the keyboard switcher. If you use a third-party keyboard in Lollipop, you will see a little keyboard icon for the ime switcher below your return key. It looks like this:

Is there a way to remove the IME switcher?

I hate the keyboard switcher. Is there any way to hide or remove the ime switcher that Lollipop places directly under the return key in Lollipop? I'm tired of that menu popping up every time my clumsy thumb strays a little too far south.

How I move or hide the IME switcher in Lollipop?

I use SwiftKey on both my tablet and phone, both of which have updated to Lollipop. I've repeatedly hit the IME switcher that Lollipop now places directly under the return key on my keyboard. How can I get rid of or move that stupid keyboard icon, other than uninstalling SwiftKey? I tried...

Apps for Calendar Snooze on Lollipop?

To answer my own question, Calendar Event Reminder works well on my Moto X with Lollipop. I bought CER a few days ago after missing a calendar notification, and I've been happy with it. I recommend it highly to the other two or three people who are bothered by the loss of a snooze function in...

Apps for Calendar Snooze on Lollipop?

Have any of you used Calendar Event Reminder or other third-party apps for snoozing calendar notifications on Lollipop? I don't know if it's the changes to Google Calendar or Lollipop that are to blame, but I miss the ability to snooze reminders. Any suggestions for restoring (and hopefully...

Moto X (2014) Restoring the Lost Calendar Snooze

Have any of you used a third-party app that enables/improves snoozing Google Calendar (e.g., Calendar Event Reminder) since upgrading to Lollipop? Despite Google's promise to improve the ability to snooze calendar events, they've completely removed any snooze function from calendar reminders. I...

    Moto X (2nd Gen) Pure Edition XT1095: 5.0 Lollipop Update (22.11.6)

For those who have the update, can you still snooze calendar reminders in Lollipop? I lost that ability on my Nexus 10 when it updated.

    Moto X 2014 Cases!

I don't think the i-Blason TPU case has been mentioned on this thread yet, and it should have been. It's a simple, slim case with all of the cutouts it ought to have, including one for the dimple. Compared to the Supcase Unicorn Beetle, which is the only other case I've had, it's slimmer but...
