I am with you... it is ridiculous that my bb torch worked so flawlessly with Bluetooth and android lags behind... the only thing that works for me is vlingo or speak to it. I haven't dared rooting yet but if that solves the issue, I will. I hope you find a solution. Sent from my Transformer...

If you set a custom ringtone for a contact, do you get that tone for notifications too? Mine somehow does that.

I found a potential answer. Change the txt to speech option to pico tts. I will test it tomorrow.
