Update: phone connected Bluetooth after the changes to power saving settings, but it appears to have been random because we’re back to not connecting. If android is putting the app to sleep, how would I know and how would I fix it? Thank you for your help so far :)

I just did a search of settings and turned off any power saving features I found. We'll see if that changes anything. Thanks for the tip.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, running Android 12. Periodically (probably 3 times out of 10) when I try to connect via Bluetooth to an already paired device, the Bluetooth app will cycle on and off. It's on long enough for a list of devices to appear but if I select one it does not stay on...
