Bluetooth cycles on and off, will not connect.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, running Android 12. Periodically (probably 3 times out of 10) when I try to connect via Bluetooth to an already paired device, the Bluetooth app will cycle on and off. It's on long enough for a list of devices to appear but if I select one it does not stay on long enough to connect to it before it cycles off. I've had this problem for quite some time and haven't found a solution. I made a brief video showing what happens but it is of the wrong file type to attach, unfortunately. I'd appreciate any advice.

I just did a search of settings and turned off any power saving features I found. We'll see if that changes anything. Thanks for the tip.

Also Samsung is notoriously aggressive about putting apps to sleep. Couldnt hurt to check that as well.

Update: phone connected Bluetooth after the changes to power saving settings, but it appears to have been random because we’re back to not connecting.

If android is putting the app to sleep, how would I know and how would I fix it? Thank you for your help so far

That's a tough one.. you could try resetting your Bluetooth settings, which would erase all your paired devices and reset your Bluetooth. But most every time I've seen that kind of problem with a deep system app like Bluetooth, it seemed to take a factory reset to properly fix it.

You might be able to go into the Bluetooth app itself and clear it's cache and data and force stop it... that might work.

Go to Bluetooth settings>upper right corner tap>advanced>Bluetooth history anything there?
