You can use power saving power saving mode in android 4.0 version and more but the problem is many display related features will be disabled but it really saves your battery very much.
I am using galaxy note 2 and it has 3100 MAH high power battery and I don't think I have any need to save...
I am using it extensively and i think it is giving me an average of 10 hours back up service when used on 3G network.
I think it is pretty cool back up time.
S4 is just an speculation therefore it will be smart decision to go for S3 or Galaxy note 2. Both devices are ultimate and coming with 2 GB RAM with latest android version 4.1 .
I suggest to go for galaxy note 2 .
I think they just want to compete with iPhone 5 with this so called "S3 Mini". Except for the screen size, the compact version held most features of the Galaxy S3.
Don't worry! this device has Android OS, v4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), upgradable to v4.1.
According to experts, minimum requirement for jelly bean OS is 2 GB RAM and 10.1 has 2 GB RAM therefore no need to worry!
I too consume lots of data on my tablet. I feel more comfortable working on device rather that PC. But i always use 3g network as I am a professional and always need to go outdoors for attending meetings and all. And I must say that tablet is not only a toy but more that a simple PC.
