    Battery Life on 4.4.4

Update 2: After nearly a week since reset and giving Snapdragon Battery Guru another go, I think I have seen improvement in battery life. I'm currently on Dalvik (I retried ART before reset with no improvement) but might try ART again to see if it'll help. While lasting more than a day never...

    Battery Life on 4.4.4

Update: I tried a factory reset a couple days ago, failed miserably. Battery drain is the same, maybe even worse!

    Battery Life on 4.4.4

Terrible. On a nearly 3 hour bus ride Sunday, with not a whole lot of use on a mostly full charge, I had to grab a battery pack by evening after my phone died. With a mostly full charge from being on a car charger all day, I had to plug in at 20% after less than 5 hours' use off the charger...

Droid Maxx Future Android L Update

Not only a two-year support commitment, but if the L rollout will be anything like KitKat's was, we should see it on our Droids by year's end, or early next year, I hope, given how fast Moto and VZW handled updates early on (the first camera update, and KitKat). The only reason that went off...

    DROID MAXX: 4.4.4 KitKat (21.11.21.obake-maxx_verizon.Verizon.en.US)

I first posted this on the Mini's 4.4.4 thread, but I'll share here since this is where the party's at. Anyone who likes Tasker can probably relate: Sounds weird, but my favorite thing about the update is that it fixed some longstanding issues with Tasker. The notification shade didn't play...

    Phone logs and SAS messages

I can't help you with where the phone stores texts, but the least you can do is copy everything on to a computer or portable drive until someone who knows or a thorough Google search can tell you, then transfer the right folder over from there. Posted via Android Central App

    DROID MINI: 4.4.4 KitKat (21.11.21.obakem_verizon.Verizon.en.US)

Sounds weird, but my favorite thing about the update is that it fixed some longstanding issues with Tasker. The notification shade didn't play nice with simple Tasker operations that disabled the lockscreen when on a home Wi-Fi or cell network. You tapped a notification and the lockscreen came...

    Difference between Moto and Droid?

If this year's releases are anything like last's, then the Droid(s) will be based on Moto X+1 hardware and most of the software. So, different cases, screens, and maybe batteries. I've seen unsubstantiated rumors that the new X might pack a Maxx-class battery, but no one knows for sure yet...

    DROID MINI: 4.4.4 KitKat (21.11.21.obakem_verizon.Verizon.en.US)

Ooh, thank you. Might try this out. Hopefully it can fix the battery life issues I've had since 4.4. Posted via Android Central App

    DROID MINI: 4.4.4 KitKat (21.11.21.obakem_verizon.Verizon.en.US)

Re: DROID MINI: 4.4.4 Update (skipping 4.4.3) The Droids' future updates are looking more and more like Duke Nukem Forever's dev cycle. At least software security's a legit excuse for delay. Posted via Android Central App

    SMS received notification!

Are you using a third party text message app like Contacts+ or Messages+, which can show texts in a window? If so you may need to adjust the settings. I'm pretty sure the stock Messaging app doesn't do that. Posted via Android Central App and Droid Mini

    Droid Mini Battery Life

Yeah, I have terrible battery life even with Snapdragon Battery Guru running, but I've never had a long-lasting battery on any smartphone I've had, including HTC's EVO Shift and LTE, so maybe it's just me. Posted via Android Central App and Droid Mini

    Droid Mini Battery Life

I'm a heavy user on mine, and it gets pretty lousy battery life. I'd say 5 to 7 hours of use before the battery gets to the red zone (15-20%). Maybe reinstalling isn't such a bad idea after all. Posted via Android Central App and Droid Mini

Root for Droid Mini & KitKat 4.2.2?

I've been checking XDA a few times a month since KitKat (4.4.0)arrived, nothing so far for some reason. I do feel that 4.4.2 will roll out to the droids sometime after Moto finishes upgrading the X to 4.4.2, so maybe the dev community is waiting for that to happen. I would have learned how to...

Win 1 of 3 Moto Gs from Android Central!

A separate work phone would be nice. I can't believe I replied in the article comments and not here! D'oh!
