Found it - just touch the photo you want to use within the individual contact and choose "use this photo".

Is there a widget/app to quickly disable pop ups/message detail in the notification bar? Sometimes someon wants to use/look at/hold my phone for a minute, but I don't want them to see the pop-ups of my texts or the message detail scrolling across the notification bar. It's one of those things...

For a few of my contacts that are google contacts (in otherwords they have gmail too and google profiles, including a picture they supplied), MotoBlur is opting to use their google photo instead of the Facebook photo. I've tried unjoining and rejoining the contact in different orders, but no...

Just noticed today that my contacts finally sync'ed - I guess it really can take hours to days....I didn't change any permissions or anything else just finally went through.

I think that that is the exact problem - when I first registered my Droid X, the droid requested permission from facebook to access my info and then there was an app called "Droid" which didn't do anything, but housed the permissions for my phone to access my facebook. This time around when...

No luck - left my phone alone for the entire night after I removed the account and pulled the battery then added it back :(

Did you have the facebook for android app installed when you tried to do the sync again and then left it alone?

You could try Handcent for the replacing the native text app - I can verify that the popup feature works on that applications along with lots of other customizable options...

I would hope it is just a setting - I wish they would add a manual sync button. If I can't get it to sync tonight leaving the phone on my wifi network I'll try swapping it out...and setting everything up...again!

I may need handcuffs to leave my phone alone! Haha - I'll try that again tonight and make sure that the data saver is off too...

No luck :( still no facebook contacts and now I have to set up everything all over again - joy.
