I don't have such sounds, so it is definitely possible to disable them. I am not sure which settings are responsible, but here are some you didn't mention: Under Sounds and Notifications, I have reduced "System" volume to zero. Further under "Other sounds", I have disabled all sounds.

I found it! To see what I did on previous days, I have to go into the corresponding applet (e.g. "Steps") and look at the "TREND" tab. Under "Manage items" there is a "PROGRAMS" tab, which lists 4 programs designed for runners. I suspect that these are the "programs" which "Program history"...
