From what I understood the TMobile version is actually the only one with an unlocked bootloader. So -in theory - flashing the Google software should turn it into a Google Experience. You won't even have to root it actually. The question might only be about the updates coming from Google itself...

There's another major difference between the two... Htc has decided not to include tmobile 1700 antennas for 4g... Just for lte. So with this brilliant move they just cut off a big chunk of their customer base who already has a contract free deal with tmo and is more likely to buy unlocked...
