My $259 LG G Pad running 4.4.2 Kitkat, no reason to buy the GPe if you already have one

Cool thanks. Newegg doesn't allow returns without a restocking fee though right? (for non-defective items). Best Buy is pretty good about it so I generally buy from them. I'm guessing the price will go down again soon.

It was $299 last night but it's back up to $349 today.

software buttons (back/home/multitasking) to one side?

Yep. But even on the nexus 7 it was pretty bad. The home button sits in the one and only spot that is not easily reachable by your thumbs. Anywhere else on the whole darn bar would have been better. What I don't get is why they don't just allow them to be moved. Trivial change...

software buttons (back/home/multitasking) to one side?

Agreed. It's awful. 16x10 devices are already long and narrow enough. Don't make it worse by blacking out a long narrow strip along the bottom just to give me 3 tiny buttons. I can't believe they haven't fixed this yet.

    Nexus 10 or iPad 4?

I want a combination. I prefer Android over iOS. However I prefer 4x3 aspect ratio on tablets that large. I returned my nexus 10, not because it was too big... but because it was the wrong shape and not comfortable to hold. So until a high-res, 4x3 android tablet hits the market, I'll...

Note 8 TODAY or Nexus 7 2 Soon??

Good lord, not more specs lists. No its not. You're listing specs. You're defining "best screen" based on a resolution pissing contest. For me the Note 8 / Tab 3 8 is the "best" screen because it is the right size and the resolution is enough. The screen is bigger. Its a huge difference...

Note 8 TODAY or Nexus 7 2 Soon??

Yes. What you just listed are specs. What I care about is day to day use. For me the usability was just fine, and the bigger screen was a huge improvement. PS: What destroys landscape mode is the ridiculous black soft button bar that turns a 16x10 screen into a 16x9 screen. Its an...

Note 8 TODAY or Nexus 7 2 Soon??

I returned my nexus 7 for the note 8, and am quite happy I did. For me its not about the pen but the extra inch. It makes a huge difference. For people who don't care about the s-pen I recommend the tab 3 8 over the nexus as well. Its a slightly smaller, lighter, and cheaper version of the...

    4x3 android tablets... any coming?

I much prefer 4x3 over 16x10 but don't want to get an ipad. Am I the only one? Any rumors of some nice new 4x3 Android tables in the works? There are some cheap ipad knockoffs but the hw specs are not great and buying them seems a bit risky to begin with.

Higher resolution is NOT always better

Problem is... I hate apple software. I tried the iPhone 5 and just couldn't do it. I want a back button, thank you. I'm seriously considering the 2012 nexus 7. At $150 for the 16gb it might be good enough to tide me over until something I actually want comes along. So are you gonna help...

Higher resolution is NOT always better

I have now tried them all. They produce strange mixes of font sizes, or oddly wrapped text in weird frame sizes. I'm going to check the 2012 model one more time but I'll probably go that route. The hardware is ahead of the software.
