Thank you, tried these fixes-- nothing. I have been searching for fixes online and in more than one place I have seen people comment that the little notification light feature is no more with UI 8. So perhaps that's the problem. I did try a couple of notification apps but they're all wrong.

No it doesn't go through. I do use Chomp, but also I would get the orange (green?) notification light when the phone is folded, for apps I chose: Chomp, Ebay, Gmail, Yahoo mail, Ring (maybe a couple ofhters I don't remember offhand). The little light would stay lit until I opened the phone...

No orange dot on the screen when folded. The clock is there; it's one I chose from GoodLock. I've even explored there and there doesn't seem to be an option to create a clock and add an option for notifications.

The "when to show" option is set to Always.

Both how Notifications and Show even when screen is off, are toggled to yes

Yes, I did set it as AOD. And I said lock screen-- I think I misspoke-- it's when the phone is locked and folded. I want the visual notification to appear on the phone when it's locked and folded. Thank you

You're right, I was on the wrong page. I had never used, or even noticed, that Good Lock app. Your fix works! Thank you so much. That added feature was driving me crazy; I didn't want to accidentally share a pic with someone from my Contact list that I hardly know. Thank yoiu, thank you. :)
