The only time I noticed that mine got hot was when I was wirelessly charging it with the Spigen Ultra Thin Air case. I now remove the case prior to plopping it down on the orb and have not noticed it heating up to that degree since.

One thing I have noticed thus far--the phone gets significantly hotter when charging through the case. Without the case, it doesn't get any warmer than it does when charging via usb cable.

Got a shipping confirmation this morning at 12:33am with a UPS tracking number. Phone is set to arrive TODAY, which is amazing. The UPS tracking site says that delivery was "Originally Scheduled for Delivery on 3/7/13" but is now "Scheduled for Early Delivery on 3/6/13." I'll take it!

The store I go to in SF says the same thing. I have my fingers crossed that I might be able to get one on Friday either due to a miracle or communication ineptitude on the branch's part, but will not get my hopes up.

For what it's worth, my VZW representative for their SF Financial District location just called me to let me know that I could pick mine up on Friday morning. This was subsequent to the front page article being posted at approximately 10:00AM PST.
