My update didn't appear on its own - I manually checked for updates and then it appeared.

Re: why can't I see the chrome browser windows tab on my note 4 Open Chrome, tap the menu icon, (3 dots in the upper right corner), then tap Settings. Merge Tabs and Apps is the 2nd setting from the top.

+1 here on this issue. (Verizon Note 4 running 4.4.4 and Nova Launcher) As a rule, I restart my phone every morning and wipe it down to reset the device and the goop that accumulates on the phone. During the last week or so, after some but not all restarts, my default launcher needs reset...

I don't think ALL S4's lag. I think a common protocol that many people either are not aware of or just decide to skip is doing a factory reset after upgrading the OS. Every single Droid I have owned went laggy after installing new OS releases - that is until I read a post recommending factory...
