    fav apps & why

PRODUCTIVITY CHROME - Makes web surfing smooth, effortless. Bookmarks are easily synced between all three of my devices (Bionic, Nexus 7 tablet, and desktop computer) DROPBOX - Best cloud storage app I've found yet. Simple, effective, easy-to-use interface. Makes editing and accessing...

    Chrome blurry

Yep. Same here. Blurriness is gone, and so is the lag. :)

What was your phone before the Bionic?

Motorola DROID X. Absolutely great phone right up to the point when I got the Bionic. Gave the DX to my wife to get her on a smartphone until her upgrade was due, and sadly it started to act erratically not long afterward. Fortunately, her upgrade was coming quickly, and she grabbed the...

    Chrome blurry

It was the very first thing I noticed too. Almost like it's a different font with "faux bold" applied to it. Very annoying. I've also been experiencing a noticeable lag (sluggishness) in Chrome's performance since the update. It's not quite as bad now but still there. :(

    Battery Life

Over the last two weeks, I've noticed a significant change in my Bionic's battery life, but it's been for the BETTER! On all my Android devices, "Screen" was the biggest percentage of battery usage, but lately "Android OS" has been topping the list. That being said, I've been consistently...

    Nexus 7 Color Saturation Question

I imagine keeping the tablet permanent at 100% takes a greater toll, but I can't imagine how anyone would want to keep it that bright indoors. I've tried it, and my eyes start hurting within a minute from the sheer brightness of the screen! 50-66% would be my preferred level if the battery...

Are your N7's still Buttery Smooth?

Mine still runs buttery smooth. Yes, there are occasional lags, but nothing that's detrimental to the performance. I've read that it tends to lag and freeze when you get below the 3 GB available storage threshold, and if that's true, I'd say that's a software issue that DEFINITELY needs to be...

    Nexus 7 Color Saturation Question

Now, I've heard from multiple sources that using Auto Brightness is one of the WORST things you can do for battery life because it requires the device's sensors to be in a state of continuous scanning. What's your experience with that?

    Nexus 7 Color Saturation Question

Staples is very tyrannical with their 14-day return policy. Go in on day 15, and they'll basically tell you to go screw yourself. Best Buy isn't an option because they don't sell the Nexus 7 (unless something has changed in the past few weeks). Wal-Mart does sell them (along with Nexus 10)...

Would you be willing to pay more for a higher end Nexus 7 (2013 model)?

I'd want the following: Extended battery life Improved screen resolution Gorilla glass Front stereo speakers In that order too. Barely get 5.5 hours of active use out of this N7! Everything else is inconsequential to me. Didn't include processor because 1) this one runs just fine and 2) I...

    Jellybean is here!

My father just received his back from repair (bad battery, I believe), and while I was setting it back up for him again yesterday morning, I saw the icon prompting me to update the OS. Aside from taking about a half hour to download (my parents have Verizon DSL...not the fastest service by...

    Notification pull down not reliable

I've had it bounce closed on me since 4.2 as well, but it appears (to me, at least) that it's the result of increased sensitivity. If your finger lingers on the screen and makes the slightest move backward, the notification shade snaps back. Best approach I've found is to do one quick swipe...

    new Google Currents

Swipe over to the sidebar. At the bottom of each category, you should see a "Customize" entry after your subscriptions. Press that, and it's pretty self-explanatory at that point. Hope that helps! BTW, I tried long-press at first too. :)

    Google Play Store gift cards

Google released them about 2-3 months ago. Other locations that sell them include Wal-Mart, Gamestop, and Radio Shack. As for Target, check up at the front registers. You'll likely find $10 increment cards there too. Those are the ones I tend to purchase.

Nexus 7 rebooting on it's own since 4.2 update!

Just had my first random reboot, and it was during the installation of the latest HD Widget update.
