It's a pre-installed system app, although I think it was launched after your particular model year which is why I guess Google have installed it now. If you have the means to uninstall it it won't cause any issues although I wouldn't know if Google might not re-install it again in the future...

Being bored I did a little testing and this issue isn't restricted to this particular calendar app. I downloaded the OP's app, set all required permissions and indeed it does not show in 'App notifications' in Settings. I have no real use for calendar apps these days and I just use Fossify...

I guess you're using Google Messages so in 'Messages settings' goto: Notifications>Notification categories>then tap on the actual text, 'Incoming messages', and you can change it on the next screen which will show up.

I never updated after the Bridge sale apart from a couple of update mistakes I made on the Store which were very speedily deleted. Got the last Bridge APK (v8.1.3) from APKMirror so no dramas. I've been a Prime user for over 13 years and can't see me changing until it breaks.
