Just got it on an A36 here in the UK. Doesn't look at though it's going to change my life but then again I wasn't expecting it to unless something breaks! We'll see....

I can view the Android/data files using X-plore (Android 15, not rooted).

Just to confirm the instructions: Go to the Play Store on a PC. Click on your initial/picture in the upper right corner of the page and select "Library and Devices". Click the "Devices" tab and then uncheck any devices that you don't want to show up any more. This cleared the issue for me...

Almost certainly I'd say. I'd tried a number of different browsers, Samsung Internet included, and apart from they were all dirty data robbing b******* none of them really hit the spot. Finally landed on Brave (I use the beta) and best move I ever made but each to their own of course.

I totally agree: it's all down to Samsung, not Google. If it wasn't for Good Lock, and to a lesser extent there updates policy, I'd have have looked at alternatives to Samsung a long while ago. In saying that I did fairly recently but that was a not inexpensive - or at least for me - mistake...

On reading this I've just (very) reluctantly enabled and updated Chrome on an A36 and yes, there's 3 pieces of unremoveable crap in mobile bookmarks. This is on a purchased, SIM free (or unlocked as I believe you say in the States) phone and I'm just so glad I ditched Chrome a long time ago.

Out of curiosity what are the two bookmarks in the folder? And any particular reason why they can't be edited and moved or copied over?

Which file manager are you using? Although I very rarely use it except for very specific purposes try Files by Google.

Good to know for any DDG users looking for such a facility but who may not be aware of it. I also have DDG installed but only for app tracking, otherwise I have no further use for it as I'm very happily embedded with Brave.

My oldest is a Moto G (1st Gen) from the beginning of 2013 (I use it as a kitchen timer). This was my first Android phone after the last rites of Symbian (R.I.P ⚰️). I never got over the loss and I still feel sad to this day 😢
