I have the same problem with my Note 5 - it is clearly related to the recent Verizon security update! And, worse, I ran a factory reset this weekend, which fixed it for just 48 hours - now back again! Same error message and no keyboard! Very frustrating.

Same problem here on Verizon ever since the recent update. A total pain, countless retries to unlock via fingerprint and then the phone locks up for 30 seconds. Does anyone know if Samsung is aware of this?

Strange that a software update would correct this, I would have thought that it was a physical issue, but like yours, mine now works every time without having to position it just so.

My battery life is much worse after the upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1, it seems that Google Services, Cell Standby and surprisingly Messages is using a lot of the battery. I plan on doing a cache wipe first and hope to avoid to a factory reset which I find to be a pain.
