I don't actually own the Tab S3 but I was thinking about picking one up. If I did, I will replace the launcher, but does the tablet need to be rooted before you can install and use a new launcher? Or do you only have to install the new launcher and select it as the default? Thanks

I wonder if the coming flow of ChromeOS tablets has or will kill the cheap Chromebooks. Hmmm, on second thoughts that doesn't sound right as the education market still needs the cheap Chromebooks.

Chrome on my Chromebook and desktop but I recently started using the Brave browser on my Android phone. I used to use Opera on my phone but the pinch-zoom feature sucks. I got tired of not being able to remove ads in Chrome on Android.

I think it depends what you need from the device. If you only want email, small documents, social media and browsing, then the Chromebook is an excellent option. Even more so if you're already tied into Google's eco system (GMail, Drive, Documents etc). If you want games, video, audio or image...

You might be able to download other browsers though I get the feeling they might be listed as "not compatible". If you can install a new browser I'm sure ChromeOS is hard coded to use Chrome, hence the name. :)

I try to keep my phones for at least two years and so far, my android phones never get updates. Is it still worth buying the Mate 9, given it’s available for a very good price? I assume it’ll get Oreo but I doubt it’ll get the next major update? Will Huawei continue to provide security updates...

How's the performance? The 625 is a middleweight chipset and I'm worried it will be to slow before two years is up.
