What version of Android is on the Fire 10 HD? Is it at least 7? Thanks

Thanks - I wasn't sure if Amazon had released a newer version of FireOS based on a major Android upgrade. That's pretty old for 2019.

The newer Fire HD8 has Fire 6.0 which is based on Android 7.

Depends on which version of Fire OS you have. My HD 10, 9th gen, runs Fire OS 7.3.1.6. That is based on Android 9.

Yes, since this thread started almost 2 years ago, things are a little bit different now.

It depends on the tablet generation. All 9th and 10th Gen tablets launched with Fire OS 7, based on Android 9. Except for the 9th Gen Fire 7 (which launched with Fire OS 6).

The 8th Gen HD8, and 9th Gen Fire 7 were the only previously released devices to get updated from Fire OS 6 (based on Android 7) to the current Fire OS 7.

All the 7th Gen and older tablets - 7, HD 8 and HD 10 - are stuck on Fire OS 5 (based on Android 5.1) or older.
