Its not cortex A9 either. it has similarities to both the A9 and the A8 calling it one or the other is incorrect. Snapdragon is entirely built by qualcomm using the same armv7 instruction set as in both cortex A8 and A9, that is what makes it similar to both. here is a good article explaining...
