What brand/model case are you using that gets in the way of the audio jack's? I enjoyed the slimness of this phone with no case for several days because I couldn't decide which case to get. But that ended on the 3rd day I had the phone when it slipped out of my pocket and hit the wood floor.

For question #1, you could try an app called Hearing Saver. I'm not sure if it will work when you plug your phone to your car. But it definitely works with headphones.

Re: screen Overlay Detected For me, it turns out it was the screen brightness control app Lux Lite that was causing me problems. Disabled that app and it appears that everything is good now.

A factory data reset would remove all data, songs, pictures, and anything else you added to the phone. It would reset the phone to how it was when you first bought it. And I just checked...the NY Times app is supposed to be less than a 6 MB download according to Google Play. Strange it showed...

If you don't want to root your phone you can still disable the bloat apps. For the Verizon version, I think the command is: Settings Application Manager Click on the app Click on the "disable" box Output on the stock Verizon charger is 5V, 1.8A.
