I'm having the same problem but the message also appears while I'm using other apps. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy s4 Active. Amazon should really address this issue. Does anyone know what the message is actually referring to as being the problem?

The phones shows as being connected to wifi but when I try to browser the web its says webpage not found or if I try to use google play its says no connection retry. I've also tried to use Skype and several other apps but I can't get on the internet.

I am interning in Zambia for the summer and had my phone service suspended for the summer. I brought the phone with me hoping to still use it. I have read a number of threads on using the android phones with WiFi only but nothing seems to work. Could anyone give me suggestions on what I need to do?
