    I use a Nexus 5. I thought that was a given. :-). BTW, hangouts works just fine for me. Nice and simple with good integration to my other services. No complaints here. I hope you find the settings to do what you want to do.

    In hangouts it is under SMS settings and you check the notifications box. Try that and see if it wakes the screen like you want.

    My screen comes on any time I get a text message so it must be a setting somewhere. Not sure about emails or other general notifications.

    Did you just disable all notifications for the app, or is a there a way to disable the traffic info only by going into settings within the app?

    Battery life after three months.

    I get no where close to that with my normal day probably around 2hr SOT. Never anywhere close to 4 or 5. I have most battery eating things turned off and brightness on auto.

    Yes but who wants to be limited to 2M pixels in order to do 16x9 ratio? :-/ why would Google only allow that setting on the lower picture quality size setting.

    OK. Mine absolutely does NOT play through the earpiece then. I wonder if this is a configuration or setting somewhere.

    Mine does not play anything through the earpiece. Is with a specific music player that you have noticed this? I have not noticed a significant change in sound quality since the 4.4.2 update.
