LG agreed that the slot must be faulty (there should be an obvious click but I get nothing). Advised to go back to retailer. No quibble from O2, they will do a "doorstep" swap for a new phone today. Good service.

Thanks Rukbat. My suspicion too. I have a support ticket open with LG but they just ask me to do factory reset. Well, I have had this phone for three days and the problem was there straight out of the box. So, I can't see the point in reset to factory when that is pretty much the state it is in!

I have just got this phone (H440N) and find that it will not see the MicroSD card. I have tried two cards (4GB and an 8GB) both of which work OK in my HTC phone and on laptop. Both are MicroSD HC. Maybe it doesn't accept HC cards? I can't find any info on that in tech specs. I am finding it...
