That's not necessarily true. Unless you accept as a definitive that things are recording or being tracked even when you've turned everything off. Also depends what you define as "recording and being tracked". Few people go to the lengths I go to to remove all permissions on their phones.

So you can turn on "Hey Google" and even Federated learning but not have any of that get uploaded to Google and only stay on your device for 63 days. Is that more or less it?

And that completely removes any chance of recording what I say after Hey Google, or Ok Google?

The problem is that I absolutely do not want Google recording my voice. Is there any way to take advantage of the Voice Assistant benefits without having Google keep my voice recordings? Thanks!

The Pixel 8 doesn't have any manual controls on the camera. In all previous Pixel phones, the non-Pro versions could run a modified gcam to get those manual controls. But I'm not asking about that, I'm asking whether anyone has tried other camera apps to see if all the standard Camera2 API...
