Wrong, it is the beta unenroll. But if you are running the August 5th update you are not running beta software so it does not wipe your device.

I just unenrolled and received the September update as well. If your Oreo version is August 5th, that is the publicly available version and unenrolling will not wipe your device. I think the wiping only applies to uninstalling a beta version but August 5th update his public not beta.

My VZW Pixel shows Oreo Aug 5th and when I check for updates it says I'm up to date. The Sept OTA for Oreo has been out for a while hasn't it? Every other month I've been updated OTA within a few days of release. And ideas?

I'd have to disagree with your assessment. I got my Pixel in November and it's been updated monthly until this month.

Reading about Blueborne I see there should be a Sept update and patch for Oreo on Pixel OTA. My Verizon Pixel has gotten all updates including Oreo thru Aug but now says up to date and I can't get the Sept update.

Any pointers on how to do that or where to find more info? I have never done this. I rooted a Turbo but otherwise I haven't messed with OS replacement. Can it be done OTA? From where? Or do I need a PC, a bunch of drivers and other software downloaded from unknown sites?

Yes I correctly finished the update with a reboot then later that day, I grab my phone and it's got the booting four dancing dots screen. And it's uninstalled and reinstalled the Feb 5 update at least twice since then.
