Linked thread is a waste of time -- because, as other folks have found out, it doesn't change the brightness; instead, the screen is STILL too dim once you check the Auto box again.

Only in SOME cases. In others, nothing gets rid of it other than unplugging the charger. I have mine plugged into a dock in the car, and swiping does NOT get rid of the notification.

Before you just reformat it and lose everything, at least see if it can be read and updated using a PC. IF it can't, then you've become yet another victim of the "S3 eats SD cards" problem. But don't feel singled out -- I've had four such cards "eaten" by my S3s.
