Yes, dark backgrounds. Took it back to the 'tech' team in Tesco and they couldn't even see it..... Useless. Will phone the nexus support line instead.

I haven't done anything yet but was going to phone the support number and see what they suggest. I could try taking it back to Tesco where I got it but I doubt they will do anything as it was purchased in October.

Hi, My son's Nexus 7 is showing a strange screen issue, see attached image that I took with my DSLR+macro lens. It doesn't look like a dead pixel to me....more like a large (probably 5mm in diameter) section of faulty screen. Anyone got any ideas or has seen this before? Kind Regards Alex
