I traced the intent using logcat. It's coming from the android system itself. android/com.android.server.wifi_offload.AppRunnOverWifiDialog Apparently that lives in framework-res.apk. Will try to run that by apktool and see if I can decompile it. Sent from my SCH-I405 using Tapatalk

OK, well after hacking some stuff, I can get an AP working without any kind of authentication. I had to: Copy iptables_armv5 from the Droidwall program. (The current one was spitting out errors.) Edit tether.edify to replace "mode ad-hoc" with "mode master" The driver looks to prevent softap...

No go on Barnacle...has anyone actually tried this?

I swear I read someone here was able to get android-wifi-tether working on this phone. I've tried the bleeding edge version and all possible options, and all give me errors either setting softap or adhoc mode. Anyone tried this? Thanks!

Yeah, I can't even buy this phone without CM7 ported to it, or at least with a custom ROM with a CIFS module. So I gotta wait probably a month until they root this and get ClockworkMod Recovery on it. Sigh. Droid 1 User here, as I'm sure a lot of us are. Telling Motorola what I think about...

Hey guys, FYI, I've confirmed the Samsung Stratosphere Vehicle Dock Verizon is selling for $39.99 has a 3.5MM audio out port. Can't find the dock on Samsung's site or a manual on Verizon, but I've confirmed over the phone with a rep that opened up the box, that it has a 3.5MM jack on the back...
