Have you looked into Settings -> Audio if the volume is not muted?

KingRoot normally doesn't brick the phone. As I have seen, if it works, it worked, if not, your device remains working. If you brick your device, you can unbrick it again, so just go and try it. ;)

Please tap on "Android System" and post a screenshot of it. Also you should disable WiFi when you're not using your device for a long time because that drains much battery.
