Finally updated my S4 to the new version of firmware on Kies and since then I've done a couple of re-boots and the memory card hasn't unmounted. Fingers crossed all is fine.

I've tried to report this issue to Samsung through their impossible to use support contact page but I just don't get a response. Anyone know a good Samsung contact?

Yea, both 64Gb Cards. One Samsung and one Sandisk.

2 different memory cards (from 2 different manufacturers) in 2 different Galaxy S4s and still the same problem. Must be an S4 Hardware or Firmware issue. Its frustrating and a big bug. Especially when you think you can now, or soon will be able to, install Apps onto the memory card.

So, I'm in the UK and the update is yet to appear to KIES. Any idea when it will?

That's what I do but then the GS4 searches the card for all the media and uses about 5% battery because the card is stuff with lots of music.

Seems I am not alone then. Do Samsung have a good history on releasing fixes for this? I've tried to contact their useless support but the just recommend formatting my card and never get anywhere.

Anyone outside of germany managed to get the update yet? I have the GT-I9505 and hoping the update comes to UK soon as it will fix the screen smudging issue my phone suffers from and also allow me to install some of the bigger apps on my SD card.

It happens to me on nearly every re-boot of my phone. Means I have to re-mount or I can't play my music or if I take pictures it saves them to internal storage. With the new firmware update coming soon I'm worried I'll be losing Apps that are installed on my SD card too.

My first was a Sandisk then I went with a Samsung. As I say both get the issue. Also the same fault on two different Galaxy S4s.

My 64Gb SD card seems to unmount when I start up the phone. I've tried 2 different SD Cards (Sandisk and Samsung) and even swapped my S4 for a new one but still the memory card unmounts and I have to manually remount it to get access to my music/photos.

First card was a Sandisk. I've since swapped it for a Samsung SD Card. Same problem which makes me think its a hardware/app issue.
