For some reason, neither my phone, nor my tablet liked FoxFi. I actually got a warning today about it failing to load the WiFi driver.

Android has Portable Hotspot built in. I want to know if when rooted in stock rom, you can use it without sprint monitoring/charging. With apps like Barnicle or OG Tether, they use what's called an ad-hoc network or peer-to-peer network, which Android is not compatible with.
